EQ Development in the Classroom with the Happiness Bucket
 Remember the story of the “Happiness bucket“? These photo’s show some classroom activities around filling someone else’s bucket.

Positive comments and gestures fill a person’s bucket, whilst hurtful actions and words empty it.
Happy or Hurt Game.
 
The boys also developed in pairs, a board game which they call the Happy or Hurt game and it involves identifying what is a bucket filler or emptier as well as getting them to do the facial expression of various emotions, thereby building their emotional vocabulary and literacy.

A huge well done to Jen Steyn for applying her learning from the EQ Educator so amazingly. It is so great to see these little 8 and 9 year olds grow in confidence and empathy as they understand the affect their actions have on others as well as themselves.
