The Self Management workshop
held 18th and 19th 2017
This was the group that attended the Self Management workshop on Monday and Tuesday the 18th and 19th September. Delegates came from Brink Towing Services, Beyond Insights, SAAMBR (Sea World) and EQUest.
We had highly interactive sessions where we worked on increasing our ability to navigate emotions especially when we find ourselves in the emotional hijack that results in the fight, freeze or flee reaction. We also looked at the ability to apply consequential thinking and how this can impact decision making and also the impact it has on long terms consequences and how to shift from the micro managing of teams. We also explored tools for increasing optimism as well as shifting from extrinsic to intrinsic motivation and how we can use the Organisational Vital signs touch points to do this. We also worked on how to have a crucial conversation and delegates were able to practice having these on each other.

Keshia Govender of Sea World found her main area of growth to be how to approach aggressive people and not to be so passive.
