Tsogo Supervisors

held 15th June 2017

“being in my new position at work I need to get the team in good spirits to work well here, the team building event held was amazing and I think it did just what was intended, and everyone had fun” Wade Bartlett, General Manager.
June the 15th was the start of the EQ journey for this Tsogo Sun team from Sun Coast Casino. This team, from various departments at Sun Coast, started with understanding the Six Seconds EQ in Action Model as well as the relevance and importance of Emotional Intelligence both in the work place and in society in general. They also have a greater understanding of the fight, fright or freeze concept that results when we become emotionally hi jacked and the Emotional brain dominates our decision making process.

When we meet again in July we will be exploring how to navigate emotions, recognize our typical habits and patterns as well as how to apply consequential thinking.

Looking forward to working with this fun, dedicated group again!

Sea World Education Department

“being in my new position at work I need to get the team in good spirits to work well here, the team building event held was amazing and I think it did just what was intended, and everyone had fun” Wade Bartlett, General Manager.
I ran a brain style workshop for 12 people from the Sea World Education team last Thursday the 6th April. They learnt more about how our brains work and some basic Emotional Intelligence concepts, including the emotional hi jack, when we operate only from our survival or old reptilian brain rather than using both our thinking and emotional brain together. We also looked at typical patterns of behaviour and how they can enhance efficiency but also inhibit us when we function on auto pilot and lose sight of some of the happenings around us.

Expandasign Team building

Building on The All Blacks recipe for Success

“being in my new position at work I need to get the team in good spirits to work well here, the team building event held was amazing and I think it did just what was intended, and everyone had fun” Wade Bartlett, General Manager.
Recently the Expandasign Factory management team spent a fun filled day at DUC working on their communication, trust, problem solving and general team dynamics. This included completing an obstacle course with one partner blind folded whilst the other was a verbal guide. There was lots of fun and nose diving into the sand but overall it showed the importance of good communications skills and how important trusting your colleague is. They also successfully managed to untie themselves from the human knot. This was no mean feat and involved a lot of laughing, physical and mental boundary challenges and most critically, how through communication and perseverance most things are possible! Listening and compromising was also really important as well as logical problem solving and tenacity.
